The workshop „Sources of information
within the German-speaking Internet – Search-Engines, Web-Indices,
Online-Catalogues, etc.“ primarily deals with methods of efficient
research of information within the German-speaking Internet. Several different
possibilities will be introduced and compared to each other. On the basis
of some examples and types of problems participants will have to experiment
with different Websites in order to get to know to their individual emphases.
Participants should be experienced in using a computer, especially internet
applications (such as browsers like Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.).
Experience in using search-engines might be an advantage but is not necessarily
required. However, you should be familiar with a few technical terms regarding
the use of the Internet.
